Hyojin Yoo

Hyojin is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher and designer.

Her work begins with the awareness that concepts can only be understood if enacted in real time, with direct body involvement, and through the consensus of shared experience. When confronting the practice of naming things, she accept each name as an empty container, unmoored from cultural expectations of meaning. In this process, she invite new paths of discovery, which invite a confrontation with the living dimension of the naming. Fully invested in the process of artistic labor as a viable path of sense-making, she lead herself and others in instructional step-by-step performative actions to unfold of shared understanding.

She has various work experience from editorial graphic design, textile design, creative coder and interaction designer.
