Sound Circles: Taiwan

The work preserves and records a pivotal moment in Taiwan and Asia’s queer history in which Taiwan could become the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. Interviews with Taiwanese individuals and ambient recordings from Taiwan are embedded into hand-woven speakers. The work explores the relationship of personal politics with that of national politics within the context of LGBTQ rights.
